Chicken Feed for The Colonel

That Warm and Fuzzy Feeling
Laid By The Colonel On Sat 09/29/07 @ 12:00pm

Sports fans rejoice!  Despite the close of a disappointing Mariners season, an embarrassing World Cup semi-finals loss by the US Women's soccer team and more news about Alexander's injury, the Hawks have a chance to chase away those NW blustery winds and grey skies by pounding the 49ers into the ground on Sunday.

I'm looking for Hasselbeck, Branch & Co. to bring out the Heat and take advantage of a 49er team that was humbled by Pittsburgh last week.  I want to see Tatupu and Peterson introducing Smith to field turf on a regular basis.  I want to see guys flying around and making the kind of plays that make you go "OOO!".  I want to see a blow out.

So come on Hawks--bust out the hardware so I can recapture that warm and fuzzy feeling to compliment my comfort beers!

Seahawks Should Open It Up
Laid By The Colonel On Thu 09/20/07 @ 03:26pm

Maybe it's just because I'm a former offensive guy, or maybe it's because I think low-scoring defensive affairs are boring as hell, but I think that Holmgren should open it up this week.  Let Hasselbeck throw long and often--we can even let Alexander or Morris get into the mix and see if they can catch.

If the Browns can score 51 points on the Bengals, surely we can?

Just so you don't think I'm completely off my rocker, looks like Jamey Eisenberg, Senior Fantasy Writer for NFL.com agrees with me:

"Browns quarterback Derek Anderson passed for 328 yards, five touchdowns and an interception last week against Cincinnati, so Hasselbeck should be in line for a big day. Hasselbeck got going last week against Arizona with 281 yards passing and a touchdown. He doesn't have a dominant receiver, but Deion Branch, Bobby Engram and Nate Burleson get the job done. The Bengals also are No. 27 in pass defense, allowing 267.5 yards per game and five touchdowns with only three interceptions. After doing well against Baltimore in Week 1, Cincinnati's defense fell apart against Cleveland, and Hasselbeck should continue the misery."

What do you think HawkNation?
