Injury Report
Five Seahawks Got Upgraded Thursday. The Safety Room Got Julian Love’s Calf.
Seattle’s Thursday injury report was the best one of the season right up until the last line. Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp, Ernest Jones IV, George Holani and Brady Russell all went from limited on Wednesday to full participants. Then Julian Love, who practiced Wednesday, sat out with a calf injury.

Seahawks who went from limited Wednesday to full participation Thursday: Darnold, Kupp, Jones IV, Holani and Russell.
Start with the good part. Darnold said he was “Feeling good” and still “taking it day-by-day,” and Macdonald plans to decide by Friday. Full reps plus a trip to the podium looks like a starting quarterback to me. Drew Lock’s whiteboard can go back to being his kid’s drawing board.
Now the back end. Ty Okada still hasn’t practiced with his hamstring, and Love just joined him. Those are the exact two names Nick Emmanwori backs up on the depth chart, so one guy is now the understudy for both leads. Emmanwori was a full go again. Rodney Thomas II, signed to the 53 on Wednesday, is trending toward a third straight start per Brady Henderson, with AJ Finley behind him and Maxen Hook and D’Anthony Bell on the practice squad.
Game designations land Friday. If Love’s calf says no, Seattle faces an offense that runs for 157 yards a game with a safety pairing of a guy who was on the practice squad until Wednesday and a second-year jack-of-all-trades coming off ankle surgery. I’d still take it. Nobody has hit this defense for a 20-yard play yet, and Marcus Mariota is not the man I’d bet on to be first.

Seattle’s Backfield Has Everything Except a Touchdown

Touchdowns by Seattle’s running backs through two games.
The closest call came in Arizona, where Wilson got three straight carries from inside the 5 and came away with a turnover on downs. Then he closed the game with 10 carries for 48 yards on a 16-play drive that burned more than 10 minutes. Can’t punch it in from the 3, can drain ten minutes off the clock in his sleep. Running back is a strange profession.
Price was limited again Thursday, and the report still calls it a chest even though Macdonald described it as a shoulder on Monday. ESPN thinks he has a good chance to play. Whoever scores first gets to feel like the lead back until Zach Charbonnet comes off PUP. No pressure, fellas.

AROUND THE COOP

Jaxon Smith-Njigba won FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week alongside Josh Allen, and pointed the $2,000 donation that comes with it to Food Lifeline in Seattle. Three touchdowns on Sunday, a food bank donation by Wednesday. Some of us just watched. Yahoo Sports
On Wednesday, Sunday’s game got billed as a battle of the backup quarterbacks. That lasted about a day. Jayden Daniels is on his second elbow dislocation in less than a year, and only one half of that headline still looks right. Washington Times
Washington plays its first game at Northwest Stadium this season on Sunday, fresh off a 37-20 loss in Dallas. Nothing says welcome home like 0-2, a backup quarterback, and a visitor riding twelve straight. Commanders.com
NFC WEST SCHADENFREUDE REPORT
RAMS
Sean McVay went on ESPN Los Angeles radio Thursday and delivered the Puka Nacua update nobody in Woodland Hills wanted: “he’s not making great progress.” Then came the obligatory line about having “a ton of confidence in the group” that plays if he doesn’t. That’s a waiter telling you the fish is fine, but have you considered the soup. Sunday night in Denver, Matthew Stafford may be eating a lot of soup.
CARDINALS
Arizona gets San Francisco on Sunday, and Jacoby Brissett previewed Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw like a guy with a signed jersey in his closet: “As a fan, you appreciate it.” He did add that as an opponent he needs to know where they are. Great plan. Most quarterbacks find out where Warner is at roughly the same moment the ball does.
SEACHICKENS TRIVIA
This Tacoma native out of Washington State was Seattle’s first-round pick, 11th overall, in 2003, and made his only Pro Bowl in 2007 after a career-high seven interceptions. Who is he?

Marcus Trufant. He started all but one of the 124 regular-season games he played for Seattle, and he did it for his hometown team.

Jason Myers Walks Off Arizona From 52
One year ago tonight in Glendale, Seattle blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead and watched the Cardinals tie it with 33 seconds left. Sam Darnold answered with a 22-yard strike to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Jason Myers drilled a 52-yard field goal as time expired for a 23-20 Thursday night win. Arizona still hasn’t beaten Seattle since.
