Brock Purdy Hasn’t Been Sacked Yet. Big Cat Got the Memo.
Leonard Williams practiced Friday and has no game status for Sunday. That puts Seattle’s sack leader across the line from a quarterback nobody has touched all year: Brock Purdy is four games in and has yet to be sacked, per Stacy Rost of Seattle Sports. The man hasn’t had to brush off his pants once.

Sacks Brock Purdy has taken through four games. Seattle ranks third in the NFL in pressure rate.
Thursday’s DNP had everyone refreshing the injury report like it owed them money. By Friday Williams was back on the practice field, and Macdonald confirmed he’s good to go. Unclench. Shoulders down.
Now the actual fight. Seattle is first in total defense and third in pressure rate at 27.6 percent. Purdy has thrown one interception all season, and Seattle is tied for the league lead with six. One of those numbers is going to change Sunday. I like ours.

San Francisco also arrives with Nick Bosa and Kyle Juszczyk ruled out, and with a defense that ranks dead last in pressure rate at 13 percent and gives up a league-high 11.5 yards per scramble. Sam Darnold doesn’t run much. Sunday might be the day he starts.

Ty Okada Is Back, and Rodney Thomas II Gets the Nicest Demotion of the Year
Keep Reading ↓
Rodney Thomas II started all four games in his place, and his reward is the kindest benching speech you’ll hear all year. “Rodney’s done a tremendous job filling in for Ty, but Ty’s gonna play,” Macdonald said, per Seattle Sports. We spent two weeks typing “Okada practiced in full, we’ll see.” We have now seen.
The bad news is on special teams. Rookie corner Julian Neal hurt his hamstring Thursday, sat out Friday and has been ruled out. He’s played all four games, mostly as a gunner on kick coverage, which is the exact unit Macdonald called not good enough after Washington. Fox 13 thinks IR is possible.
Irv Charles could take that role. He’s questionable, though, and he’s coming off injured reserve, so Seattle has to make a roster move by Saturday afternoon for him to play. Keep an eye on the transaction wire this afternoon.

AROUND THE COOP
Around the Coop
Rashid Shaheed carried it twice for 33 yards and a 28-yard touchdown against the Chargers, and Darnold compared him to Nick Emmanwori. Given how this backfield is going, the receiver could be RB2 by kickoff. Athlon Sports
George Holani is questionable with ribs and a knee, which could mean a real role for Robert Henry Jr., who was on Washington’s practice squad a week ago. Drew Lock needed a whiteboard at home to learn this offense. Henry gets five days. Yahoo Sports
Deommodore Lenoir, the 49ers corner who feuded with JSN all last season, went diplomatic this week: “He’s a great player, much respect.” JSN had nine catches for 124 yards in their first meeting last year. Respect is cheaper than coverage. ClutchPoints
Kenneth Walker III leads the NFL with 537 rushing yards in Kansas City, on pace for a record 2,282. He visits Lumen on Oct. 25. Our leading rusher Sunday might be a wide receiver. Totally fine. Not thinking about it. Seattle Sports
NFC WEST SCHADENFREUDE REPORT
RAMS
On Monday Sean McVay said he’d have an update on Myles Garrett, who’s on IR after knee surgery, by Thursday. Thursday came, and McVay admitted he only remembered the promise while walking up to the podium. He didn’t have one. “I know that the rehab is progressing well, he’s looked good in the meetings,” he said. So that’s the scouting report on the $160 million pass rusher going into Buffalo week. Elite in meetings.
NINERS
The 49ers spent the week practicing against crowd noise, because Lumen Field will be their first traditional road environment of the season, per their own website. “Always a huge challenge when you get there,” Kyle Shanahan said. Four games in, and the unbeaten Niners still haven’t played anywhere that actually hates them. Practice speakers are cute. The real ones don’t have a volume knob.
CARDINALS
Detroit offensive coordinator Drew Petzing brings one of the league’s best offenses into Arizona on Sunday, against the team that used to employ him. Mike LaFleur, asked about it, offered: “Drew definitely has his spin on that offense, but it’s the Detroit Lions offense.” Sure, coach. Arizona’s old coordinator gets a good offense, and Arizona gets to stand there and watch it.
SEACHICKENS TRIVIA
This undrafted Texas A&M defensive end signed with Seattle in 2009, spent the next four seasons in Tampa Bay, then came back in 2013 and won Super Bowl XLVIII. Who is he?

Michael Bennett. After Seattle let him go as a rookie and then got him back, he made three straight Pro Bowls from 2015 to 2017.

The First Seahawks-Packers Game
Fifty years ago today, the expansion Seahawks played the Green Bay Packers for the first time and lost 27-20. Green Bay still leads the all-time series 16-9. I’d like a rematch. Maybe several.

Okada’s hamstring, the backfield, whether Purdy’s jersey has ever been washed. Send it in and The Rooster might answer it, with more opinions than you asked for.
